Ready Readers, Baby and Me Storytime: Tuesdays, July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that inspire a love of reading. Playtime follows. For newborns through 18 months. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 10:30 a.m. Stories, music and movements that nurture the desire to read in toddlers. Playtime or craft may follow. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime: Thursdays, July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, 10:30 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5.
60 Second Challenge: Tues., July 1, 2 p.m. Perform "Minute to Win ItGÇ¥ challenges. School-age children will develop and strengthen skills in an atmosphere of discovery, collaboration and fun. For school age children.
I Scream, You Scream: Tues., July 8, 2 p.m. Learn interesting facts about the history of ice cream, the science of how it's made and the popularity of our favorite dessert. For school age children.
Found Object Art: Tues., July 15, 2 p.m. Create a robot masterpiece using found objects. Recycling and art come together. For school age children.
Star Wars Shakespeare: Wed., July 16, 1 p.m. From a galaxy far, far away comes Ian Doescher, the Bard of Star Wars, author of a new Shakespeare-inspired Star Wars series: "Verily, A New Hope,GÇ¥ "The Empire Striketh Back,GÇ¥ and "The Jedi Doth Return.GÇ¥
Marshmallow Structures and Puff Mobiles with Imagine Children's Museum: Sat., July 19, 2 p.m. Build 2D and 3D structures using marshmallows and toothpicks and a vehicle that moves using paper, a paper clip, straws and lifesavers. For school age children.
Movie Matinee: Tues., July 22, 2 p.m. Participants will be entered into a raffle to win a copy of the DVD. Rated G. 104 minutes. Call the library for the movie title.
Reading with Rover: Sat., July 26, 11 a.m. The Reading with Rover program is designed to help kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence.

Sequential Reaction: A History of the American Comic Book: Tues., July 15, 3:30 p.m. This interactive multimedia presentation traces the history of comic books from its Golden Age in the 1930s and 40s to the digital revolution of today. Presented by local journalist Andrew Wahl.

Sequential ReactionGÇôA History of the American Comic Book: Tues., July 15, 1 p.m. Comic books have held a special place in the hearts of many Americans since first appearing on the market in the 1930s. This interactive, multimedia presentation traces the history of this popular print medium, from its Golden Age in the 1930s and "40s to the digital revolution of today. Journalist and comic-book historian Andrew Wahl leads a conversation about the history of comic books as an art form, an industry, and a lens for exploring American culture. For teens, but adults may enjoy the presentation, as well.
Mehndi Madness: Mon., July 28, 1 p.m. Learn how to use a simple cone applicator to make henna designs and check out books on the art of henna! Krysteen Lomonaco of Mehndi Madness will teach you everything you need to know. Henna tattoos are safe and will fade in 2 to 4 weeks. Preregistration required as space is limited.
