Operation Christmas Child packs up good will

The Sultan High School Commons was filled with Christmas cheer on Sunday afternoon, as members of Crosswater Community Church sought to fill 1000 boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

Organized by Cathy Day and Tiffany Asper, the packing party featured a bustling assembly line, as church members and community volunteers gathered to fill festively decorated boxes with Christmas gifts. The Operation Christmas Child boxes will eventually be distributed to children in developing countries all around the world. Operation Christmas Child is an annual event coordinated by Samaritan's Purse, a humanitarian aid organization dedicated to global outreach.

Numerous Sky Valley kids gathered at tables, creating art and handwritten messages to tuck into the gift boxes.

Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick, community volunteers Elizabeth Emmons and Amie Beisel and Sultan City Councilmember-elect Russell Wiita all stopped by to pack some boxes.-á
