Police arrest Monroe man on stolen weapon charge after responding to Facebook message

Monroe Police report officers were able to find the house where a 22-year-old woman was being held under threat of death by using pieces of information included in her Facebook message to a friend in Missouri.
The message sent early Saturday morning stated a man named George, with ties to the 18th Street Gang, had a gun and refused to let her leave a house off of the "main drag."
A news release states Monroe Police were familiar with the suspect described in the Facebook message and, after responding to one address, were directed to a home on the 100 block of Woods Street.
Officers saw 27-year-old Jorge "George" Gutierrez-Sanabria and then another man exit the residence with a bloody mouth, who later told police he had been assaulted by Gutierrez-Sanabria and that there was a gun in the house.
Gutierrez-Sanabria allegedly walked out of the house, but then went back inside, where he spoke with officers through an open window. He turned himself in to police following several commands from officers, the release states.
Police contacted the woman who sent the Facebook message inside the residence, where she reported Gutierrez-Sanabria had struck the 33-year-old man with the bloody mouth and then slapped her twice when she intervened, threatening to kill her and her family if she called law enforcement.
Acting on information that Gutierrez-Sanabria had disassembled the firearm when police arrived, officers obtained a search warrant and later found the pieces of the handgun, drugs and paraphernalia, according to the release.
Gutierrez-Sanabria was booked at the Snohomish County Jail for possessing a stolen firearm and harassment - death threat. Assault charges are pending.
