Monroe Police arrested a man in Al Borlin Park on Friday who was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.
An officer spotted Nevaid Corcuera Mariche riding his bike on Sumac Drive that evening, according to Monroe Police Department administrative director Debbie Willis. He tried to stop the 26-year-old, but Mariche rode his bike into the park from Lewis Street Park.
Law enforcement had been looking for him for more than a week, since a warrant was posted for his arrest, according to Monroe Police.
Marysville Police sent a tracking K9 to assist in the search, and Mariche was found hiding in some bushes, after the dog alerted officers to the area, according to Willis. The man was taken to the Snohomish County Jail for booking on the felony warrant.
