Quarter Midgets race draws diminutive drivers

Tight and fast action opened the Senior Honda C Main race at the Washington Quarter Midget Association-sanctioned event Sunday at the WQMA one-tenth mile oval in Monroe.
The weekend featured 110 race cars in several classes, filling the boys' and girls' fields.
One entrant came all the way from Arizona to race because he liked the track facility so much.
The sport is great for kids, said one official.
"This is really a family sport and we are expecting more cars and drivers at the Regional Race on July 27 and 28," he said.
