Citing the generosity of the Sky Valley community with their time and gifts during the holidays towards the residents at Regency Care Center, the Regency Resident Council voted to donate to others.
The council voted at their last meeting to take $1,000 of their resident funds and donate half of it to the Sky Valley kids and half to kids in the Darrington/Oso area.
The donations will be in the form of backpacks and school supplies. On August 22, they stuffed backpacks for the giveaway at Mountainview Fellowship in Sultan. Mountainview partners with the Volunteers of America to provide backpacks and supplies to kids in the upper Sky Valley area. This year's giveaway was Sunday, August 24.
The week of August 25, backpacks were slated for delivery to the North County Family Services in Darrington for the kids in that area.
