Rotary club recognizes students of the month from Monroe, Sultan high schools


 

Monroe Rotary Club president Sally Petty recognized students from Monroe and Sultan high schools during the rotary meeting at Tuscano's Italian Kitchen on Wednesday, March 16. The students are part of the rotary's student of the month scholarship program, held every year to provide scholarships to local youth.

The Rotary Student of the Month committee selected the students through an application and interview process.

The club expects to award $7,000 in scholarships to Monroe's students and $3,000 to Sultan's and $1,500 to students at Snohomish High School. In addition to the six students honored last week, 12 other students were recognized at other meetings: Ayla Burchfield, Caitlin Bush, Jasmine Carmel, Nick DiMonda, Jennifer Espinoza, Claudia Hubbard,Abby Hunt, Jessica Idle, Shelby Jeffries, Morgan Moody, Ramon Perez and Eryn Byrd-Peterson.-á
