The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reports a 45-year-old woman was shot and killed by her husband inside her Snohomish residence on Monday night.

Deputies were dispatched to the 15600 block of 59th Drive Southeast around 9 p.m. to a reported domestic violence dispute, according to a news release.

“When patrol arrived on scene they found an unconscious adult woman with gunshot wounds,” the release states. “Aid on scene began administering CPR.”

The sheriff’s office sent a tweet at 11:02 p.m. stating that the woman had been pronounced dead.

Her 49-year-old husband was taken into custody, and the Major Crimes Unit is investigating, but no other suspects are believed to have been involved. Sheriff’s spokesperson Shari Ireton confirmed detectives hadn’t yet booked the suspect as of 7 a.m. Tuesday, as they were still interviewing him.
