Sheriff's Office seeking whereabouts of missing Gold Bar man

Olaf Eriksen suffers from dementia; personal belongings found near Skykomish River Monday

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is still searching for a Gold Bar man who went missing Monday afternoon.

Olaf Eriksen, 70, was last seen around 1:30 p.m., according to an SCSO news release. A witness said that was when they saw the man, who suffers from dementia, walk away from his home.

Eriksen is 5-foot-9-inches tall, and weighs about 170 pounds. He has green eyes and gray hair. The last time he was seen, he was wearong blue jeans, tennis shoes and a tan, white-striped T-shirt.

Personal items belonging tp Eriksen were discovered in the 800 block of Croft Ave by the Skykomish River on Monday, according to the release. The sheriff's office Search and Rescue helicopter surveyed the waterway by air, and the agency's Marine Unit looked on the river. The searches were made after 5 p.m.

Officials are asking the public to call 911 if any information is known about Eriksen's location.
