Small-town amazing: Ho Ho Run a Gold Bar favorite

Snohomish County Fire District #26 in Gold Bar spent Christmas Eve with some very precious cargo: Santa Claus.
Firefighters spent the evening on Wednesday, Dec. 24, driving Santa Claus around Gold Bar delivering Christmas presents to kids. The yearly "Ho Ho RunGÇ¥ event has been a tradition for about five years, and all families need to do to participate is give the fire department a call in advance. Santa is driven on a fire truck, and once they arrive at a residence, they retrieve a gift that the family has hidden somewhere on the property.
Once the gift is in Santa's possession, he knocks on the door and dazzles the youngest citizens of Gold Bar with his bright red suit and fluffy white beardGǪ And, of course, the gift.
"It's small-town amazing,GÇ¥ said Gold Bar resident Bridgett Edgar.
In this year's Ho Ho Run, Edgar's 2-year-old granddaughter, Natalie Carpenter, got her first bicycle straight from the Bearded One himself.
Edgar has lived in Gold Bar since 2004 and was excited to learn about the event.
"There are benefits to living in a small town,GÇ¥ said Edgar. "And this is definitely one of them.GÇ¥
Firefighters delivered gifts and holiday cheer for over two hours. The event is coordinated by District 26 firefighter Brian Kendall.
