Snohomish County Fire District 7 pins two new lieutenants

Snohomish County Fire District 7 Chief Gary Meek conducted the pinning ceremony for two newly promoted lieutenants during a commissioner’s meeting on Tuesday, May 15.

James Hammeren and Jeremy Karapostoles took their oath and received their badges in front of family, friends and the board of commissioners.

Hammeren has worked as a volunteer and part-time volunteer with various departments, joining Fire District 7 as a firefighter/EMT in 2008.

Karapostoles was also hired on with Fire District 7 in 2008, and is a part of the honor guard and water rescue team. He also instructs Red Card certification classes for wildland firefighting.

The two new lieutenants are currently assigned as company officers for the first Snohomish County Fire Training Academy.
