Members of the State 1A Tournament-bound Turk Softball Team enjoyed a big sendoff from fellow students, fans, family and friends on Thursday, May 28, in Sultan.
The Fastpitch squad, coached by Garth MacDicken and Peter-áRiehle,-áinclude-áOlivia Gasselsdorfer,-áBethany Kirkpatrick, Mackenna Thelen,-áKayla Downs,-áChrishelle Sentman, Grace Low, Victoria Siedl, Daphne Pohaku, Belle Ellis, Gracelyn Boyd, Alison Fulcher, Breanna Shrout, Shelby Jeffries and-áSkykar Olson.
The Turks played Monsanto in the first round of the tournament in Richland, Washington.
The state-bound Turks also included varsity Track and Field athletes-áClaudia Hubbard in the javelin and discus and Austin U-Ren -áin the 400-meter at the state meet at Eastern Washington University.-á
Monroe's own Monroe High School will send Mckinley Braa and Tristen Norton in the pole vault and Carrie Ann Steele in the triple jump at the 4A State Track and Field Meet in Tacoma.
Tyler Aamold represented the Sultan Turks at the state golf tournament at the Sun Willows course.
