Sultan, Gold Bar elementary schools hold kindergarten open houses

The Sultan School District will host kindergarten open houses for parents and guardians with children that will begin kindergarten next September.

The open houses take place 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Sultan Elementary School and 6 p.m. at Gold Bar Elementary School. Principals and kindergarten teachers from each school will present information about the curriculum and guide families through the registration process. The events are family-friendly, with childcare provided at each.-á

Children must be five years old on or before Aug. 31 in order to be eligible for kindergarten in the 2016 -17 school year.

Registration packets will be available at each open house, and parents are invited to register during the event. Registration packets may also be returned to the schools 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through June 30. Requirements for enrollment include a birth certificate, a complete certificate of immunization and two emergency phone numbers.-á
