Sultan School District will once again offer free, all-day kindergarten at both Sultan and Gold Bar elementary schools for the 2015-2016 school year.
The board of directors and superintendent prioritize and support full-day, tuition-free kindergarten at both schools. This is an important financial savings to our families - some of whom could not afford the cost for the additional half-day of learning. This translates into a savings from $1,400 per year to $2,400 per year for the option of attending the extended day kindergarten program.
The district invites parents and guardians who have children that will begin kindergarten next September to attend an open house at either Sultan Elementary School (501 Date St., Sultan) or Gold Bar Elementary (419 Lewis Ave. Gold Bar). The school principal and district superintendent, as well as kindergarten teachers, will be presenting information on curriculum and the registration process.
Kindergarten open houses will be held at Sultan Elementary School on Wednesday, March 18 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and at Gold Bar Elementary School on Wednesday, March 25 from 6 to 7 p.m. Both informational meetings will be held in the school libraries.
Registration packets will be available at the open house, and you may register that evening or return the packet to the school office that your child will attend on school days from March 1 to June 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will need: a birth certificate - children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2015 to enter kindergarten for the 2015-2016 school year; a complete certificate of immunization and two emergency phone numbers.
