Sultan Harvest for annual community Thanksgiving

By Brandon Macz

The Sultan Harvest Committee and Volunteers of America Sky Valley Services Center have teamed up again to offer a free Thanksgiving dinner noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, in the Sultan High School Commons, 13715 310th Ave. S.E.

“Sultan Harvest is an amazing, heartfelt event organized by the community for the community,” said volunteer Christina Sivewright in a news release. “It represents Sultan at its finest, as it welcomes guests from all over the Sky Valley for a freshly-cooked Thanksgiving dinner.”

The Thanksgiving dinner includes turkey and all the trimmings, including green bean casseroled, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese and pies for dessert. People can also stack items at the sandwich station.

Sultan Harvest is volunteer-run, and food, cash and supplies donations can be dropped off at the Sultan Visitor Information Center, 320 Main St., or the VOA at 701 First St., in Sultan. Donations are tax-deductible.  This time of year coats, hats, scarves and blankets are needed, and will be given away during Sultan Harvest.

Get a leg up on Christmas at Sultan Harvest, which will also feature a visit from Santa with photos that are printed onsite.
