Sultan resident held on domestic violence, cyberstalking

Sultan resident Jessy Benjamin Rylah was charged in Snohomish County District Court on Friday, Feb. 20, on one count of harassment domestic violence and one count of cyberstalking. He is being held in Snohomish County Jail on more than $300,000 bail.
Rylah was apprehended in Sultan on Feb. 17, despite attempting to elude Snohomish County Sheriff's Office deputies by running out the back door of the home in which he was located. Rylah had been under investigation by police for allegedly posting illicit photos of a young female Sultan resident on Facebook, creating a fake profile of the same female and posting additional sexually explicit photos.
Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that Rylah had two warrants: one for Assault 4 Domestic Violence and another for driving with a suspended license. Officers also discovered that Rylah had previously been convicted of harassment against the victim, enabling police-á to raise the severity of the cyberstalking charge from a gross misdemeanor to a Class C felony.
According to police documents, Rylah allegedly sent threatening messages to-á the victim's mother via Facebook. "It's not a good idea to make me want to seek further vengeance on your daughter,GÇ¥ Rylah wrote. He then identified the victim's places of employment and indicated that he knew where she was living. "Do you want her to get hurt? She knew who I was. Understand tho [sic] I am not going to stop. Not you not jail no [sic] her not a f\*\*\*\* army is gonna make me stop. Your best option is to ignore and delete. Good luck keeping her safe.GÇ¥
A Facebook page in Rylah's name includes a Feb. 12 status update which states; "Only time you catch me running is from the cops.GÇ¥
Five officers and one K9 responded to take Rylah into custody.
Snohomish County prosecutors have until March 6 to file charges against Rylah in Snohomish County Superior Court.
