The City of Monroe and the Parks & Recreation Department extend sincere appreciation and thanks to the following businesses and organizations from our community who graciously stepped forward again this year to achieve flowering landscape for our signature islands, downtown planter pots and hanging flower baskets that welcome visitors and residents alike along Main Street and Lewis Street in the heart of Monroe. Total value for these donations and volunteer labor exceeds $4,000.
Downtown Hanging Baskets - Republic Services - $500 donation for flowers for the downtown hanging baskets.
- Pine Creek Nursery for supplying the flowers at a discount.
- Monroe Garden Club for potting the baskets.
Downtown Planter Pots - Monroe Fred Meyer GÇô donation of spring tulip bulbs valued at over $1,500.
- Monroe Garden Club - $500 donation to City for purchase of flowers and planting the flowers.
- Monroe Lowes for supplying the summer flowers at a discount.
Main & Lewis Street Islands and Landscape Ends - Monroe Reformatory for growing flowers from seed and installation by offender work crew.
