Theda Marie Johnson Maki December 20, 1922 - August 29, 2018

Theda Marie Johnson Maki passed away on August 29, 2018 in Portland OR, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ashland, WI, Theda grew up in a loving Christian home with her parents and four siblings.

She moved to Washington state in 1945 and had five children. Theda lived in Monroe from 1959 to 1980 when she moved to Long Beach, WA, where she spent most of her life until her passing. She enjoyed beachcombing and musical events in Long Beach. Theda loved playing the piano and singing. Growing up in Ashland, she was often the soloist at many high school and church events. She also sang for a radio station in Ashland. Her music teacher extended his wish to send her to New York to audition for an opera company. In her retirement years she enjoyed many trips to Wisconsin and Nebraska, to spend time with family there.

She is survived by her daughter Linda of Vancouver, WA and son John of Monroe, WA. She is also survived by grandson Brent, granddaughter Mikki, great-granddaughter Angelica, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by three sons, Johnny Matt, Thomas Edward, and David John, and grandson Ryan Eugene Momeny.

Graveside services will be held at the Monroe IOOF Cemetery at Noon on Saturday, Oct. 27.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Quinn Driscoll Foundation:  www.QuinnDriscollFoundation.org.
