Baseball and softball season is right around the corner. Based on the performances of last year's teams in the district tournaments, this could be a banner year for Sky Valley Little League. Just about all of the local teams either reached the championship game or won it.
Registration is open online right now at the newly-designed Sky Valley Little League website, www.svll.org. In-person registration will take place at four different locations. Details can be found on the website.
New this year will be East and West divisions, with lower level teams made up of players from their respective school boundaries, as best as possible. This will be a welcome change for many families living outside of the Monroe School District as travel to practices and games was always an issue during the work week. Expect to see more games and practices in the Sultan area this year.
District 1 of Little League will also be hosting a coaching clinic led by Big Al on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Sky Valley Education Center in Monroe. This clinic is free to attend for all parents, coaches and players.-á Details can also be found on the website.
Sky Valley Little League also has a completely new board of directors led by President Roger Braaten. The board this year has made a significant step toward listening to the community's needs, as well as providing transparency in all aspects of league business.
Little League in the Sky Valley region is getting stronger; the talent is getting better and enthusiasm for the upcoming season has never been more anticipated. Register today!
