UPDATE: Missing hiker near Blanca Lake found safe

UPDATE: The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office reported around 2:46 p.m. Sunday that the missing hiker had been found in good condition and was being walked out with searchers.
Snohomish County Search and Rescue is searching for an 18-year-old hiker who reportedly became separated from her group Saturday night near Blanca Lake in the Index area.
The sheriff's office reports several 911 calls came in around 9 p.m. Saturday, May 7, and a nighttime search and rescue operation was launched. The missing hiker had not been found as of 10 a.m. Sunday.
The Blanca Lake Trail is closed due to the ongoing search, and additional resources have been requested from the Washington State Department of Emergency Management. Searchers want to use SNOHAWK10 in their operation, but the sheriff's office reports weather is not permitting that currently.
The sheriff's office reports the 18-year-old hiker was with at least one other person when she went missing and may not be equipped to handle conditions in this remote area of the county.
