Cruisers continue to struggle with more losses after break

After a long holiday break, the Cruisers were looking to erase their three-game losing streak when they travelled to Elma to take on the Elma Eagles this past Friday night.

Elma, who came into the game on a three-game losing streak of their own, outlasted the Cruisers in this one and take the victory, 58-40 over the Cruisers.

Jacob Knoblauch led the Cruisers with 10 points on the night.

Nursing a four-game skid, the Cruisers would return home to the comfy confines of Rainier Connect Arena as they hosted that Montesano Bulldogs in a non-league match up.

The Bulldogs pulled away in the 2nd quarter. They outscored the Cruisers 20-10 in the quarter to take a 32-18 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Cruisers fought back in the second half, but the Bulldogs seemed to match them basket for basket and would eventually down the Cruisers by a score of 63-44.

Freshman Shay Brannon and senior Cameron Hatler led the Cruisers with 8 points each.

This loss now drops the Cruisers to 1-8 on the season. They will travel to Washington HS on Tuesday to take on the Patriots. Tip-off is at 5:15 p.m. The Cruisers will round out the week with a home game against the Highline Pirates. Game time will be 7 p.m.
