Lady Cruiser grapplers do well in Kelso Girls Invite

On Saturday, the Cruiser girls wrestling team packed up and headed south to Kelso to compete in the Kelso Girls Invite.

Kayla Trujillo placed fifth out of 64 other girls in the 130 pound class. Sadie Schier and Jillian Ruiz would both make it to day two and unfortunately would go out in their first matches of the day.

Overall, the team placed 35th out of 102 teams.

Coach Trinity Potter said, “All the girls wrestled great and we had so many other girls who were really close to moving on the day two as well.”

Next up, the Lady Cruisers will travel to Orting to take on the Cardinals in a league match up. Wrestling starts at 5:30 pm.
