Eatonville council to amend 2020 budget

At its Oct. 26 meeting, the Eatonville Town Council had a first reading of an ordinance amending the 2020 budget.

Ordinance No. 2020-2 amends the budget to include a grant of $1.4 million from the state Capital Budget and administered through the Washington State Public Works Board to be used for Eatonville’s Third Water Filter and Clear Well Project. The project includes expanding the existing water treatment plant with the addition of a third membrane filtration skid and conversion of the fourth slow sand filter basin to additional clear well storage.

Ordinances must be read once during a council meeting before the meeting, at which time the ordinance will be voted on; hence this first reading was just that, with no testimony and no votes taken.

“One of the simple things for 2020,” Mayor Mike Schaub joked.d

The Eatonville Town Council also passed Resolution No. 2020-R, adopting the Region 5 All Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2020-25 edition, and the Eatonville addendum to the Region 5 All Hazard Mitigation Plan. An adopted plan is required to apply for federal funding.
