Lady Cruisers fall to Timberwolves

The Lady Cruiser basketball team hosted the Morton-White Pass Timberwolves Dec. 20 and were handed their fourth loss in a row, 35-32.

The Timberwolves went on an 8-2 run in the second that would extend their lead to 12 points, and the Cruisers were never able to recover.

Eatonville's defense clamped down in the fourth and held the Timberwolves scoreless for the last 4 minutes, 11 seconds of the game while they tried to mount a comeback.

Down by three with seconds to play, freshman Bailey Andersen's 3-point attempt to tie the game was  long and clanked off the backboard, and the Cruisers dropped to 0-4 on the season.

Andersen led the Cruisers with career highs in points with 16 and rebounds with 15 for the first double-double of her young high school career.

Taylor Limbird chipped in with eight points of her own.

Sophia Henley was very active on the boards pulling down 10 rebounds.

The Timberwolves were led by McKenzee Mays' 14 points

The Lady Cruisers took a break for the holiday and regrouped. They host the Toledo Riverhawks at 7 p.m. today, following the boys' game.
