Registration open for Prevail the Trail 5K fun run

Residents are invited to register for the Prevail the Trail 5K, the second race in Pierce County Parks' Run the Fun 5K series. It is open to all ages and abilities. People can either register for the virtual run, which takes place from July 23 through July 25 at the racer's choice, or the in-person event July 24 at the Foothills Trail in Orting. The course starts and finishes at the Orting City Park. Start times are staggered depending on racers' experience levels.

People must pre-register for the virtual run by July 16. The registration fee is $20.

To participate in the Foothills Trail race, people must pre-register by July 12. Cost is $30 for ages 13 and up and $15 for youth 12 and under. For more information, including links to register, go to https://www.piercecountywa.gov/4938/Run-the-Fun-5K-Series, or call 253-798-4141.
