A Graham teen was selected among the winners in their divisions during the Pierce County Library System’s 25th annual Our Own Expressions Teen Writing and Art Contest.
Olivia Lathrom placed third in the ninth and 10th-grade division of the poetry contest.
More than 700 students in seventh through 12th grades grades from schools across the county submitted their drawings, photographs, poems and short stories for the contest.
Professional writers Michael Magee and Brandi Douglas, photographer Lisa Roden and artist Abrian Curington selected the winners, who were awarded cash prizes from the Pierce County Library Foundation. The award-winning young authors and artists will have their winning work displayed at expressions.pcls.us and in copies of the winners’ booklet available at Pierce County Libraries through the Library Curbside service.
