Cruisers pick up big win over White River

The Eatonville Cruiser baseball team picked up wins over the White River Hornets and the Foss Falcons last week. while dropping two games to the Steilacoom Sentinels.

April 27, the Cruisers won a pitching duel, 2-1, over White River.

Brothers Blain and Payton Hanly combined to throw a two-hitter against the Hornets.

Cooper Field, Payton Hanly and Blain Hanly each collected one hit to lead Eatonville.

On April 28, the Cruisers played a double header against the Steilacoom Sentinels.

The Cruiser bats were stifled in the first game as the Sentinels would defeated them 11-1 in a mercy rule-shortened five-inning game.

EJ McMains got the lone Cruiser hit in the game.

The Cruisers scored five runs in the second game, but the Sentinels hot hitting drove in nine runs to take the win.

The Cruisers racked up seven hits. McMains and Ashton Meyer each collected multiple hits for Eatonville.

Riley Storm was on the pitcher's mound for Eatonville. The righty allowed three hits and four runs over two innings and struck out one. Jakob Lucht and Riley Taylor entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

On Friday, the Cruisers hosted the Foss Falcons, and the Cruiser bats came alive.

Lucht led the Cruisers with three hits. He hit a double and drove in three runs.

Storm chipped in with two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.

Five Cruiser pitchers combined to throw a one hitter, with Payton Hanly picking up the win.
