Letter: Bob Walter is best candidate for Eatonville mayor

This election year, we have a stark choice in the election for mayor of Eatonville and the type of governance we will choose for the next four years in our town.

I’ve read the candidates’ statements in the voter pamphlet, I’ve read the threads on social media and heard about the permitting disputes and claims. I am confident the best path forward for Eatonville is leadership that values fairness for all, collaboration, community building and diversity. Bob Walter is the candidate who embraces these key elements, particularly with respect to the business community.

Bob understands that business owners have been struggling, some of them even before the pandemic. Bob will work to revitalize and beautify our downtown core through an integrated process involving merchants, building owners, town hall and our most-engaged citizens. Bob is committed to establishing a more streamlined process to assist new businesses in our community.

Business owners know Bob Walter because they have worked with him on many community events. He’s a great listener, communicator and team player. He reaches out to others for advice and researches a topic until he’s developed a full understanding.

That’s why I gladly support Bob Walter for mayor.
