Girls soccer: The Lady Cruisers had a rough first week of action; they were shutout in both of their matches. They dropped their first match to Vashon, 9-0. A trip to King’s High School didn’t yield a much better result, and they dropped that one, 4-0.
Volleyball: The ladies got the season started on a positive note with a 3-0 shutout of the Vashon Pirates. Senior Berkeley Porter recorded nine service aces and five kills for the Cruisers. Mary Chabot chipped in with three kills.
Boys tennis: The Cruisers lost a close one against Aberdeen. They tied 3-3 in overall matches but lost 48-47 in games played to give Aberdeen the win. In singles play, Brodie Thirtyacre won 6-3, 6-2 for the Cruisers. In doubles play, Skyler Sarpy/Jorgen Saysette won 6-2, 6-4, while Ryan Root/Jaiden Sobczyk won 6-1, 6-0.
