The opening day of trout season begins Saturday and opens with the 29th annual Mineral Lake Fishing Derby and Raffle from 12:01 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Mineral Market, Headquarters Tavern, Mineral Lake Resort and at the American Legion Post Building on the day of the event. Weigh-in is at the American Legion Post Building/Tent from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Derby winners will be announced at 1:15 p.m. at the legion tent. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the legion building the day of the event.
Derby participants can use a public state boat launch or the Mineral Lake Lions Den Campground boat launch the day of the derby for $10.
