Council signs off on grant funding agreements

The Eatonville Town Council passed four resolutions having to do with grant funding at its Sept. 12 meeting.

The council passed a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign a contract agreement with the state Department of Commerce to obtain grant funding from the Middle Housing Program in the amount of $75,000.

The town applied for and was awarded $60,000 in grant funds to conduct activities that promote the consideration of rezoning 30 percent of parcels presently zoned as single-family residential to multifamily housing, with an additional $15,000 in grant funds awarded to subcontract with community-based organizations by Growth Management Services.

The council passed a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign an interagency agreement with the Department of Commerce to obtain $80,000 in grant funding from Growth Management Services.

The council passed a resolution approving and accepting a $60,787.42 grant from the state Department of Transportation to be used for airfield pavement maintenance at Swanson Field.

In a related motion, the council passed a resolution awarding a $59,247 contract to C.R. Contracting, LLC, to complete the work at the airport. The total amount of the bid after taxes is $63,986.76. The town is obligated to pay $3,199.34 after the grant is received.
