Town Council tables capital improvement plan

The Eatonville Town Council still isn’t ready to pass the six-year capital improvement plan.

At the council’s Feb. 27 meeting, the plan was tabled, with the idea being to bring it up for a vote later this year.

This makes the third meeting in a row in which the $37.4 million capital improvement plan — a comprehensive series of street, water, electric, stormwater, parks, solid waste, sewer, facilities and airport projects — has been delayed by the council.

Some councilmembers have been concerned that items on the transportation improvement plan, passed by the council in 2019, were not included in the capital improvement plan, possibly leading to substantial increase in the cost of utilities for customers.
