Eatonville track sends 16 to 1A state meet

The Eatonville Cruiser track and field teams had strong showings at the 2023 1A SWW District 4 championships last week.

The Cruiser can now boast having three district champions on their squad: Kyle Cox in the shot put, Logan Taylor in the triple jump and Brooke Blocker in the javelin. Taylor recorded a personal record jump of 40 feet, 10.5 inches to claim the top spot.

Overall, the boys took home a fourth-place finish, with the girls bringing home fifth place.

In total, Eatonville will send 16 athletes to the state meet. The full list of athletes participating:

• Ky Nation: 100 meters, 4x100-meter relay
• Logan Taylor: Triple jump, high jump
• Hannah Kralik: Pole vault, 4x100-meter relay
• Hannah Hanson: 100m, 4x100-meter relay
• Ella Gendreau: 4x100-meter relay
• Walker Bruun: 4x100-meter relay
• Lilly Lightfoot: 100m hurdles
• Kyle Cox: Shot put, discus
• Tristen Lewis: Discus
• Brooke Blocker: Javelin
• Hadley Noble: 4x100-meter relay
• Sienna Henkle: 4x100-meter relay
• Jenea Roulst: 4x100-meter relay
• Riley Storm: Javelin, 4x100-meter relay
• Cole Bamford: 4x100-meter relay

The 1A state meet will take place Thursday through Saturday at Zaepfel Stadium at Eisenhower High School.
