Fall sports all-league awards announced

Eatonville High School's athletes basked in the glow of success as the 1A Evergreen All-League awards were unveiled, honoring outstanding performances in various sports. 

The football team took center stage with an impressive journey to the state competition, while the girls' soccer team showcased their talent in the district playoffs.

Football dominated the headlines, as the Eatonville gridiron stars earned well-deserved accolades. Quarterback Hunter Klumpar, wide receivers Ky Nation and Griffin Clevenger, offensive lineman Aaron Tozier, defensive lineman Evan Wimbles, linebackers Payton Hanly and Max Henley, and defensive back Dylan Norman all secured coveted First Team spots. Kicker Colton Herbrand and punter Griffin Clevenger clinched Second Team distinctions, while offensive lineman Nick Shipman, tight end Aiden Eichost, defensive lineman Favian Pina, linebacker Boedy Porter, and defensive back Riley McFadden received Honorable Mentions.

The girls soccer team added to the triumph, with Mary Van Eaton, a junior midfielder, and senior defender Ryan Stammen claiming First Team spots. Junior midfielder Haley Courson and junior defender Caedence Dunn earned Second Team honors, while seniors Kyleigh Backlund and Davy Olson received Honorable Mentions. Notably, the success of the girls' soccer team led to Coach of the Year honors for Eatonville.

Boys tennis contributed to the school's glory, with the team receiving the Sportsmanship Award. Carl Lucas earned an Honorable Mention in singles, finishing a commendable 8th at the district tournament. The dynamic doubles pair of Brody Thirtyacre and A.J. Lightfoot secured 2nd Team All-League honors, finishing 4th at the district tournament.

In volleyball, seniors Clara Chabot and junior Bailey Andersen received Honorable Mentions for their stellar performances on the court.
