Cruiser track and field shines at home meet

The Eatonville Cruiser track and field team continued to showcase their domination on March 28 during a home meet.

The boys' squad secured their third first-place finish of the season. Meanwhile, the girls' team demonstrated their strength, earning a second-place finish.

Standout performances from the boys' team included Keith Smith's first-place victory in the 100m dash; Colton Rush's top finish in the 1600m race; and the impressive showing by the 4x100m relay team comprising Riley Hill, Jacob Simons, Logan Taylor and Keith Smith.

Additionally, the 4x400m relay team, consisting of Cole Bamford, Oscar Lopez-Diaz, Colton Rush, and Joey Callon, showcased their dominance with another first-place finish. Carter Taylor soared to a first-place finish in the Pole Vault, achieving a personal best of 13’, while Logan Taylor leaped to a season high of 38’3” to clinch the top spot in the triple jump.

On the girls' side, senior Ryan Stammen stole the spotlight, claiming first place in two events. Stammen showcased her prowess in the Javelin with a remarkable throw of 97’ 1.5” and achieved a personal best in the Pole Vault with a jump of 7’9”. Stammen would also record personal bests in the Shot Put and Discus events.

Nikia King impressed with a first-place finish in the 100m race with a personal best time of 14.42, while Kelani Monserrate clocked a personal best of 1:04.44 in the 400m race to secure first place. Hannah Bieker dominated the 3200m race, crossing the finish line with a time of 13:56.20.

Lily Lightfoot displayed her agility, claiming the top spot in both the 100m Hurdles with a time of 18.82 and the Triple Jump with a leap of 28’. Furthermore, the 4x100m relay team of Ciana Hover, Nikia King, Jenae Roulst, and Kennedy Noble, along with the 4x200m relay team of King, Noble, Roulst, and Monserrate, showcased their synchrony, both clinching first place finishes.
