Twenty-three members of Eatonville High School's equestrian team have qualified for the state WAHSET competition this month. After the team's latest district meet March 17-20 in Elma, the qualifiers so far are Kennedy Seroshek Mackenzie Huggler, Bailey Hatler, Josie Carlton, Mattie Administer, Abby Rodewald, Grace Bertram, Sammi Kuhlman, Kenzie Rodewald, Emmalie Hatch, Miranda McBee, Shay Hart, Joseph Warner, Melony Shelter, Sydney Hulman, Samantha Monta, Brittany Wadsworth, Savannah Carpenter, Colton Worrell, Kyli Pierce, Mackenzie Baker, DarCee Greer and Heather Padgett. Riders earn state tickets by breaking and holding a record until the end of the season, placing first, second or third in the same individual event at least twice, and being in the top 10 percent of average event size. In the recent district meet, Seroshek broke a 10-year-old record in the barrel event, though unofficially because of a barrel obstruction. Kaylie Murphy and Kailey Flansburg both had 10-second clockings in the keyhole run and barrel run, respectively.
