Cruisers, Braves enter hoop districts

High school basketball's post-season has arrived for the Eatonville Cruisers and the Bethel Braves. Eatonville's boys' and girls' teams will vie in the 1A Southwest District playoffs that start this Friday, while Bethel's girls will launch their 4A West Central District 3 bid Thursday. At stake are berths in the regional tournaments for the top three finishers in the Southwest and the top six in the West Central. The opening round of the Southwest's boys field has Eatonville hosting Castle Rock at 7 p.m., with the winner advancing to a Feb. 16 matchup with the survivor of the Forks-King's Way Christian contest. The losers of those first-round games will also meet Feb. 16 in a loser-out affair. Eatonville finished third in the Evergreen League during the regular season with 9-5 record (13-7 overall).
