Eatonville is two victories away from having a spot in the state 1A high school baseball tournament. In the Southwest District playoffs, Eatonville beat Kalama 3-2 in the opening round Tuesday, but lost to Tenino 8-2 the next day in the second round. The Cruisers can still earn one of the district's three tickets to the state tourney if they beat Montesano on Friday in a loser-out contest that will be played in Rochester, and then on Saturday defeat either King's Way Christian or La Center. The winner Saturday will be the district's third-place finisher. Montesano reached its showdown with Eatonville by beating Castle Rock 14-5 on Wednesday after a first-round loss to La Center 8-1.
