Curtis spoils Eagles' post-season bid

Graham-Kapowsin was knocked out of high school baseball post-season contention in a 6-2 loss to Curtis May 6. In the game between South Puget Sound League 4A South division foes that had a berth in the West Central District 4A playoffs at stake, Curtis never trailed after scoring two runs in the second inning and one in the third for a 3-0 lead. But G-K cut the advantage to 3-2 with two runs in the fourth inning and hung close until the Vikings pulled away with three runs in the last two innings. Graham-Kapowsin, which finished fifth in the South during the regular season, had kept its district hopes alive by thumping Kentridge 9-2 May 5. A five-run outburst in the first inning essentially put the victory in the Eagles' pocket.
