Seven Eatonville High School seniors are in the running to be the school's next Daffofil Festival princess.
The selection will be made during a pageant next Tuesday at the school's Performing Arts Center. The festivities will begin at 7 p.m.
Eatonville is among 24 high schools in Pierce County whose princesses will compete to become queen of the annual festival. Among princesses already chosen is Amy Berstein of Graham-Kapowsin. Other schools still awaiting their royalty selections include Bethel, whose pageant is scheduled for Nov. 19.
The Eatonville contestants, their parents and their escorts in next week's pageant are:
" Larae Hall, daughter of Vicki and Patrick Hall, escorted by Ryan Moeller.
" Riley Jumper, daughter of Diana and Waylan Jumper, escorted by Zach Fairhart.
" Annelise Litzenberger, daughter to Ronda & Rowland Litzenberger, escorted by Nicholas Phipps
" Alexis Lyon, daughter of Tammy Ell and Kelly Lyon, escorted by Luke Saterdal.
" Kayla Makepeace, daughter of Lucinda and Chase Catell, escorted by Eli Olson.
" Morgan Mann, daughter of Julie and Michael Mann, escorted by Oscar Trinidad.
" Isabelle Pooley, daughter of Deanna and Glen Simmons and Rebecca and John Pooley, escorted by David Hamilton.
Earlier in the day of the pageant, the contestants will be interviewed by five judges. That night, they will give a one-minute speech focusing on the festival's theme, "The Magic of Music.GÇ¥ They'll answer impromptu questions in front of the audience.
Acts and musical performances by Eatonville students are planned, as well as a reception following the coronation.
The Daffodil Festival queen will be chosen next March. The 80th Grand Floral Parade, the festival's signature event, is scheduled for April 13.
