Driver jailed after crash

A driver ended up in jail and a passenger went to a hospital after a one-car crash Tuesday on State Route 7. The vehicle ran off the highway and struck a guardrail, according to the State Patrol. The driver, a 30-year-old man from Eatonville, was treated for injuries and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault. The Dispatch isn't publishing his name because he hadn't been formally charged. An adult female riding in the car was taken to a Tacoma hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. A second passenger, also an adult, didn't require medical attention and was released at the scene of the accident, troopers said.
