Three Eatonville High School student-athletes finished the 2016 girls tennis season as alternates to the 1A state tournament. Kendra Baker, a junior, was a singles alternate, and the duo of senior Emily Gacke and freshman Amber Frank were alternates in doubles as a result of their showings in the district tourney May 20 in Vancouver. Eatonville finished third in the team standings, capping a spring in which the Cruisers won the Evergreen League regular-season championship by winning seven of their eight matches. The district tourney included schools from the Evergreen and the Trico League. Jasmine Nesbitt of Kings Way Christian and Haley Keeling Castle Rock earned the district's singles entries to the state tournament. The spots in doubles went to Selena Carns and Hanah Cathcart of Three Rivers Christian and Castle Rock's Kelsey Bern and Jenna LaFontaine.
