Eatonville High School's boys basketball team is one victory away from assuring itself of a spot at the next level of the post-season playoffs. The Cruisers beat Castle Rock 68-61 Friday in the first round of the 1A Southwest District tourney. Their next opponent is King's Way Christian, a 61-31 winner over Forks in another opening-round game. KWC will be the host team Tuesday when it clashes with Eatonville in the second round that will send the winner of that contest into the district title game Feb. 20 to decide district's top two seeds in the regionals. The loser of the King's Way-Eatonville matchup can still earn the district's third and last seed in the regionals by winning games that are scheduled for Feb. 18 and Feb. 20. The regional event is the final step in trying to qualify for the state tournament. In other first-round outcomes Friday, Kalama thumped Montesano 69-43 and Hoquiam edged La Center 60-57.
