Eight-run start fuels Eatonville romp

Two high school fastpitch games on back-to-back days had similar outcomes, one of which was to the Eatonville Cruisers' liking. Eatonville rode an eight-run first inning to a 12-2 victory over Vashon April 18, The next day went the other way for the Cruisers in a 12-1 loss to Elma. Hannah Mitchell (three runs batted in) and Autumn Holt (three hits and two RBIs) led Eatonville's offense. Pitcher Baley Porter limited the Pirates to two hits and struck out six in the non-league contest that was shortened to five innings by the 10-run-margin rule. The game April 19 between 1A Evergreen League foes was scoreless until Elma scored six runs in the fifth inning. The Eagles added six more in the seventh inning.
