She recently had a physical, and except for dementia and needing to lose some weight, everything else was fine. On that day she had gone to lunch and around 12:30 p.m. had been seen her getting her mail and heading back to her apartment. Andy, her youngest son, went over to her assisted-living apartment, at about 12:50, to change out her laundry (he and his wife, Nancy did her laundry, shopping, and Nancy drove her up to see her sister, Dagny, age 91, once a month). As soon as he walked in the door, he saw her. She was kneeling at her walker just inside the door. Her heart had given up soon after she entered her room. There were Bible study books, pictures, letters and cards from friends all over her couch, except for the spot where she liked to sit and look at them, over and over again. If you've written her a letter in the past 15 years, chances are, she has read and re-read it. She kept them all and cherished each one. On her counter top was a Hallmark "Thoughtfulness AlbumGÇ¥ from the 1960s where she put blank cards she intended to send out for birthdays and other occasions with a list of special dates to remember. Her warmth, generosity and love will be missed. She is now with her beloved Savior Jesus worshiping Him. We appreciate you being a part of her life.
