Everyone's help made garden tour a success

As co-chair of the Eatonville Garden Tour, I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year's tour a success. We had a record turnout, and many of the attendees came from out of town ' some as far as Satsop '-áto take in the gardens. It couldn't have been done without everyone's help, and that includes (deep breath, this is a long sentence) the many vendors, our sponsors, the high school students, cheerleaders, friends, co-up members and Eatonville Garden Club members who volunteered at the gardens, the Pierce County Sheriff cadets who stood watch all night, The Dispatch for the great advertising, Chris Bivins for designing brochures, cards and website, the nurseries in Puyallup, Tacoma, Orting and Sumner that distributed brochures, the artisans who displayed, the city for allowing us to use the Visitor Center, the hard-working organizing committee, the Eatonville Family Agency for lending us the coach, and to all of you who talked up the event and bought tickets. And thank you to the gardeners who put in hundreds and hundreds of hours to get your yards in shape and who where gracious enough to let about 200 people walk through those yards and ask you questions for two days. Lastly, thanks to the late Dianne Fincham for all her energy, optimism and ideas. Did I miss anyone? If I did, I apologize. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you, everyone. Diane Mettler
