G-K wins big; showdown in Sumner next

The Graham-Kapowsin Eagles found themselves in an unfamiliar position GÇô behind on the scoreboard for only the third time this season GÇô against Emerald Ridge last Friday. That didn't last long. Trailing 6-0, the Eagles went ahead on touchdown runs by Aaron Olmos and Micah Smith and kept rolling for a 53-6 victory that raised their 4A South Puget Sound League South Division record to 2-0 and kept them undefeated overall after three games. The defending South Division champs will travel to Sumner this Friday for another SPSL contest.A share of the division lead will be at stake, as the host Spartans currently share it with G-K and Olympia. Sumner is coming off a 42-0 dismantling of Curtis last week, the same team that Graham-Kapowsin struggled to beat 27-21 in overtime two weeks ago.
