Guns seized by federal agents

Federal authorities seized firearms from a pawn shop in Eatonville Thursday. Specific details on the seizure by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) weren't available. But uniformed agents were seen carrying rifles from Pawn "n Things to unmarked vans parked outside the shop. Eatonville Police chief Brian Witt, who was at the scene just inside the north town limits on State Route 161 to provide local law enforcement support to the ATF agents, said evidence was seized beginning at about 10 a.m. One person was arrested at the shop, he said. Agents were still at the scene after 2:30 p.m. Another, undisclosed location also was part of the investigation. Witt deferred all other questions to the ATF. Through Witt, agents at the pawn shop declined to speak to a reporter. A phone call to the ATF regional office in Seattle was routed to the agency's office in Washington, D.C. through an automated answering system. No one was available to take questions. The pawn shop is on property that also is the site of two other businesses GÇô a vehicle storage yard and a towing service. As one of its federal law enforcement duties, ATF investigates suspected illegal activity, supplying or trafficking of firearms.
