Summer's over for high school student-athletes. It's time for the fall sports season. The campaigns start tomorrow for a handful of teams. At Bethel, the football team has its season-opener in front of the home fans against Yelm at 7 p.m. at Art Crate Field. And at Graham-Kapowsin, the golf teams tee it up against South Kitsap. On Friday, Graham-Kapowsin and Eatonville will kick off their football campaigns. G-K, coming off back-to-back deep runs in the state tournament, will start its quest for more of the same by hosting South Kitsasp at 7 p.m. at Art Crate Field. Eatonville's Cruisers, also with consecutive years of appearances in the state tourney, will be at Elma. Bethel is building on some gridiron success, too. The Braves reached the district playoffs a year ago, coming within one game of getting into the state show. The slate gets busier next week, as nearly all teams in every sport are in action. Eatonville and Bethel are in new leagues this year GÇô Eatonville in the 2A South Puget Sound League, and Bethel in the 3A Pierce County League. Graham-Kapowsin is still inthe 4A South Puget Sound League, but has been joined by some new members GÇô South Kitsap, Olympia and Bellarmine.
