The team from Eatonville High School finished second in the 1A division of the Knowledge Bowl state competition last Saturday. Eatonville reached the championship round and finished in a first-place tie with Stevenson High School, leading to a 10-question playoff to determine the champion. Stevenson won with a correct answer at the buzzer. Eatonville's team members included Zach Fairhart, Cassidy Forler, Ryan Moeller, Eli Olson, Chayton Quaranto and Catherine Speights. Knowledge Bowl six-person teams, representing-áhigh schools from across the state, who compete with each other by answering questions from subjects they study during their high school careers, such as math, science, history, language skills, literature, music and geography. The questions also cover topics of a general nature or current events. Eighteen high schools from the six state's six high school enrollment classifications earn the right to compete in the state tournament by qualifying in regional tournaments held in each of the state's nine educational districts. Eatonville won the Puget Sound Educational Service District's regional event earlier this month.
